Fires & Wild Camping
Added on 17 August 2022
We are very sad to see that despite the wildfire warning from Scottish Fire and Rescue Service, visitors to Findhorn have been lighting open fires on areas adjacent to the beach car parks. These areas are part of the Findhorn Bay Local Nature Reserve and home to sensitive plants, birds, and other wildlife. We understand that people may like to have a wee campfire in the evenings but lighting open fires and burning trees etc risks sensitive plant and wildlife, nearby residences, and the land can take years to recover even from a seemingly small scorching from open fires.
